\u201cJ-Town refers to Japan Town USA,\u201d notes leader Dan Kuramoto, \u201cit\u2019s a microcosm of all the multi-cultural communities that make America the most diverse country in the world, and how better to reflect that than in music?\u201d<\/p>\n

Opening with \u201cRED BUDDHA,\u201d an exotic romp through Japanese Obon festivals, electronic drums and pop, it\u2019s filled with celebration and fun. \u201cLOST IN PROVENCE\u201d is a catchy \u2018road trip\u2019 samba with a story all its own. \u201cSTATE OF MIND\u201d is a sophisticated turn recalling the fusion of jazz and R&B. \u201cDA KITCHEN\u201d is funk and soul with a Hiroshima spin, and \u201cLADY OF MYSTERY\u201d– June, of course– is pure exotica. \u201cKIMOCHI\u201d (feeling) is a haunting, sensual mood piece and \u201cMEIJI MAMBO\u201d is a funky, tongue-in-cheek rocker with a wild ending. DAYS GONE BY is a moving vocal ballad composed and sung by Terry Steele, of \u2018Here and Now\u2019 fame.\u00a0 \u201cAFTERNOON KOTO\u201d is June weaving her koto magic in a beautiful tone poem. \u201cCRUISIN J-TOWN\u201d not only relates to the CD title, but is a \u2018cooking\u2019 latin-rock re-make of a song from Hiroshima\u2019s 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0record, Obon.\u00a0 Finally, the powerfully emotional, \u201cTO SAY GOODBYE,\u201d is a beautiful treatise destined to become a Hiroshima \u2018classic.\u2019<\/p>\n
