Every track on “Perchance to Dream” has a unique treatment. The Irving Berlin standard, \u201cChange Partners\u201d starts off the album with a jazz waltz. Latin styles were also included. Jay Ashby\u2019s arrangement of \u201cClose Enough For Love\u201d is a mambo and Marty Ashby\u2019s arrangements of \u201cPure Imagination\u201d and \u201cHow Am I To Know\u201d take on a Samba and Bossa Nova feel respectively. Ballads include a contemporary adaptation of \u201cSave Your Love For Me\u201d and the ever powerful \u201cHere\u2019s To Life\u201d that was arranged for only voice and guitar. To spice things up, the album includes a jazz rock version of \u201cSharing The Night With The Blues\u201d and the swinger, \u201cYou Better Love Me.\u201d Two previously unrecorded, original tunes were included on Perchance to Dream: the ballad \u201cWhen I Close My Eyes\u201d by K. Lawrence Dunham and Carol Robbins and the bluesy \u201cPoor Girl\u201d with lyrics from the poem, Poor Girl by Dr. Maya Angelou and music by Jay Ashby. Reuben says she was, \u201cso grateful to pour my heart into\u201d the two new tunes.<\/em><\/p>\n\t\t\t
