Description
Released in the U.K. in 1973, Al Stewart’s fifth LP was his first full foray into historical folk rock, for which he is most famous for. Songs such as “Warren Harding” and “Soho (needless to say)” are still performed to to this day. Included on this CD are two bonefide Masterpiece Songs; “Nostradamus” and the beautifully haunting “Roads to Moscow”. The lyric imagery and dramatic arrangement of “Roads to Moscow” becomes a movie within a song. Breathtaking in it’s scope, this is nothing but a show stopper whenever performed in concert. A true masterpiece. And what is really amazing is that 42 years after being released songs such as “Roads to Moscow”,”Soho”,”Post World War Two Blues”,”Nostradamus” are as fresh today as they were when they were first released.
A must for any Al Stewart fan.
A must for any record collection.
